Bon Giorno!

We were blessed with another incredibly beautiful, sunny day to ski. How lucky can you get?

We had a plan to ski the Sellaronda counter-clockwise (opposite way we skied on Friday). We got on a huge, new tram on Friday that was in the Arabba/Marmolada area that impressed Brock, and he enjoyed the skiing off that peak. So we decided to try getting back there. It is about halfway around the Sellaronda. We started out at 9:15 a.m. and it was nice and quiet for a while. The views were stunning along the way! When we passed through this area late on Friday afternoon, we were tired and the lighting was different, so it was as if we were seeing all this for the first time.

As you can see, we were never alone on these trails:

Everything was going along great! We rode up in one of their brand new gondolas which Brock thought was truly amazing, just as shiny as a brand new car:

We stopped for a restroom break, and all the sudden many friends decided to join us at this lift:

OK, we made it through that line and then stopped for some more pictures:

We figured we were about halfway to our destination. But then the line for the next lift was extremely long as well. We decided to bail on our plan, so we began working our way back.

We hoped to find the place where we had lunch yesterday. We found the hut where we had stopped for a water break on Friday. What an incredible scene behind it!:

More pretty scenes along the way:

Finally we made it to our lunch spot, Piz Seteur!

We learned that skiing the Dolomites is more about where you eat than where you ski!

The view from the balcony of Piz Seteur was spectacular!

After lunch, we did a little bit more skiing.

We came across a few playful things. First, a "Devil's Tunnel":

Next, a Minions Tunnel:

We skied until 2:30 p.m. We had a very pleasant day, and we are really glad that we came to Italy to ski!

Our statistics today: we used 12 lifts, skied 8.45 miles, and skied 6503 vertical feet. It's hard to get a lot of vertical feet here; lots of flat trail-outs.

Tomorrow we will continue on to Innsbruck, Austria.
