Happy Valentine's Day!
This morning we had 3 inches of fresh snow at the hotel, but more like 5 inches on the mountain. What a great start to Valentine's Day! We got an early start and were up on the mountain skiing shortly after 9:00 a.m. and well before most skiers.
The name of the ski resort we have been skiing in St. Moritz is "Corviglia".
Today we explored the only part of Corviglia that we had not checked out yet: the Signal area. There are 3 chairs on the upper part of the Signal area, and they all drop you off on top near the same place. They all have super long runs. We skied until almost 2:00 p.m. and we were still finding fresh tracks! It was unbelievable.
When we first started skiing, it was still snowing. Before long, the snow cleared out, and then we had a sunny day. It was really the perfect day for skiing.
Brock had me film him skiing some fresh tracks off a knob, and on his first turn he had a huge spill that got caught on film! He had snow everywhere.

I gave him a redo, and the second time he skied it clean!

We were having all sorts of fun.

I was really interested in getting a better view of "Free Fall", the starting area for the men's and women's World Cup Championship downhill ski races (2003 & 2017). The three chairs all dropped us off in a place that gave us a much better view of Free Fall than we could get from the Piz Nair Tram. It's to the left of the avalanche fences. The men had to climb up the steps from the tram mid station to the stone pavilion to start. The women started left of the avalanche fences but lower than the mid station. It's way steeper than it looks in the photos.

We stopped for a break and then lunch at a really quaint hut at the top of the Signal area called "Chamanna". There is really good food on the mountain.

St. Moritz is incredibly photogenic.

After lunch, we ran out of legs, so we called it a day and downloaded on the cable car.
After returning our gear to the hotel, we walked to the train station and purchased our tickets for our scenic train ride for tomorrow!
For dinner, we caught a taxi to a restaurant near the lake called "Engiadina". We had a very competent Portuguese waiter and the meal was really wonderful!
We had a very memorable Valentine's Day, and we wish the same for you.
Vertical feet skied today: 18,309.
