Thursday, August 10 - Barents Sea

On this day we were sailing the Barents Sea towards the Norwegian-owned island of Svalbard.

This piece of art work was hanging in the ship staircase we often used, and it served to remind me to STAND UP STRAIGHT!

We enjoyed morning massages. After the massages, we did the hot/cold treatment at the spa and felt really good after that. To celebrate, we enjoyed a good lunch at "The Restaurant".

The boutique in the ship was featuring Majorica jewelry on this day. In case you're not familiar with that brand, they sell high quality false pearls. My first good piece of jewelry was a Majorica pearl necklace from my Kish Grandparents when I graduated from high school. I wore it constantly and still have it. So this feature got my attention. We checked it out, and the necklace I am wearing below became mine as a result! I am very happy with it and am sure it will give me a lifetime of service like my first Majorica necklace did.

Of course, this called for dressing up for dinner and wearing the necklace. We had a reservation at The Chef's Table. During the meal, we were asked to evacuate due to a smoke alarm going off. We went upstairs and got our puffy jackets just in case the ship was on fire! When we returned, we were given the all-clear to return to dinner. Brock did not care for the Asian meal.

So far so good on not getting sea sick! I'm wearing a patch; Brock is not.
